Salut !
Itās been quite a while! Iāve had an intensive, but wonderful spring with my art history courses at Paris 1 PanthĆ©on-Sorbonne, and now itās time to look for new adventures.š¤ Iām excited to start writing this newsletter again to share each week my observations and what Iām learning about style, fashion and the arts in general.
In between enjoying some downtime after passing my exams and reflecting on the past few months, itās been fun to watch a bit more sports than usual. Iāve watched a couple of EURO 2024 football matches and Iām looking forward to tomorrow nightās France-Spain game. I have no idea which team to cheer for because I like both of them, but I guess Iāll just cheer for both and thus, double the fun!ā½ļø
Most importantly, there has been a lot to follow on the tennis front lately. Wimbledon is in progress and I am eager to see if Carlos Alcaraz will win the Grand Slam (Grand Chelem in Frenchš) this year too.
About a month ago I had the privilege to see some tennis live for the first time in my life when I visited Roland Garros here in Paris. I only managed to get tickets for the outside courts, but there were some nice matches to see there as well, and it was already great to experience the tennis buzz on site and observe the stylishly dressed visitors.š¾
In addition to enjoying the atmosphere there, I learned an important style lesson during my first day there : We must remember to check if we have chocolate on our noses after eating crĆŖpes!
Yes. I ate a Nutella crĆŖpe and walked happily around the Roland Garros grounds for some time, then I got a seat at an outside court to watch the handsome Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas play and I opened my front camera some time after to take a little selfie (as I had no one there to take my picture), and what do I know, I had been walking around with chocolate on my nose for all of that time!š
Fortunately, I didnāt run into anyone that I know, and the chocolate stain wasnāt that big, but still, I reckon it was a bit too big for others to believe it was a mole. So I decided that in order to avoid similar mishaps in the future, I must either eat a chocolate crĆŖpe with a friend (one of the true kind, who lets you know if you have chocolate on your noseš), or that I must remember to check in a mirror or on my phoneās front camera if I have any chocolate residue on my face after eating.
Whatās even funnier about this incident, is that I even had a small mirror for this purpose in my purse with me, and I truly tried to wipe my lips well after eating, but it just wasnāt enough. I shouldāve either wiped my nose too or used my small mirror. Oh well. Cāest la vie! Itās not easy to remain dignified while having a fondness for chocolate crĆŖpes. I just hope the people that saw my chocolate nose that day had a good laugh about it. Maybe my chocolate nose made someoneās day slightly better.
I hope this story either reminded you to check your nose every once in a while or to just embrace the hazardous nature of chocolate.
Have a stylish week (with or without chocolate on your nose)!
Bisous,
Elle
